Week 9 - Martini with olives, hold the vodka

This week Mom is 9 weeks along, and Bean is about the size of an olive. I'm not sure what an olive is, but I know I'd eat one if it fell on the ground. Mom started feeling sick in the afternoons last week and has been spending a lot more time on the couch and in bed - which is just fine by me! She isn't enjoying it quite as much though.

Everyone is really looking forward to seeing "the bump" but right now Mom pretty much looks exactly the same as she always does. In a few weeks they have another appointment with the doctor to see Bean again. They told me Bean will look a bit more like a baby then, which is really exciting!  Until then, Mom is eating a big breakfast and Dad is stuck eating a lot of dinner while Mom watches from the couch.

In other news, I found some new socks that Dad has been trying to hide from me. They're the Holy Grail of entertainment - socky and delicious!

The Bean! (aka: Baby Hughes)

A few weeks ago, Mom woke me up from my morning nap to tell me some awesome news -- she's having a puppy!! Err, I mean baby. Same thing, really. Dad was super happy, but we had to keep it a secret until the doctor made sure everything was ok.

Today, my mom and dad went to the doctor's office today to get a picture of The Bean.  It's pretty exciting! Mom hasn't been too sick, although she's really tired.  She and I spend a lot of time on weekends snuggling and napping, which is just fine by me!

Without further ado, meet my new best friend: Bean!  Bean's about 8 weeks old. Mom is due December 3, 2014 - it's like a belated Thanksgiving/early Christmas present!
